HOU to PNS

This is how we do breakfast at the beach. Sweet way to start the day.

So, this Spring Break week was the first time in about a decade that Daddy B was able to take off an entire week from work for vacation. (We very much love this company he works for now.) So, when he suggested we extend our vacation a few days, he didn't have to ask me twice. We extended at our condo and then stayed a couple of days at the Holiday Inn, which has the best pool on the beach. I love my kids so much that I'm willing to pack up the stuff and move in the middle of the trip, and Daddy loves the kids so much that he'll get into freezing water for his kids.

Our new view:

Here's the fishing pier you may have noticed in lots of our beach pics.

Goodbye for now, Pensacola Beach.

Ok, this made me laugh. We pushed through and drove straight home on the return trip. We had to make sure we stopped here, though. I'll let you guess the state.

Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend.

Happy 16 lovely wedded years, best friend. I'm so grateful for your love (and especially your willingness to let me take ten tons of pictures).

so we're livin' life like a video

Next on the trip:
First stop, souvenirs.

Next stop, snacks and beach pops at our most favorite place to eat in Pensacola.

Next stop, the bay side.

Next stop, sunset pics.

And, down the national seashore for sunset pics the next night.

This is for my sweet husband who has been practicing his own camera skills.

We found a flock of pelicans.

like a band of gypsies we go down the highway

Here we are on the road again. Did I mention I was gonna be at the beach all year?
I wasn't kidding. The next few posts are from our Spring Break Florida trip I never posted.

I wanted to document more than just our typical beach shots, so I tried to take several to show our journey there. This is the kind of stuff I have in my pictures gallery when I get my phone back from the kids. She likes to take pictures of her various acting bits.

Where are my Texas peeps? I'm sure you recognize this little beaver.
Classic Texas road trip rest stop.

We treated the kids to their first-ever beignets outside of Baton Rouge. Classic Louisiana road trip treats. This has since become a tradition on the I-10/12 stretch for us.

What do I do to entertain myself on the drive? Pictures, of course.
Meanwhile, B was snapping pics of me.

Daddy Driver

Since my poor son can't stand to ride in the car for long, our tradition has become stopping halfway there near Baton Rouge and checking out a new hotel. This was their first indoor pool, so they were pretty jazzed up.

You wish I was your cheesecake.

David and I have had a running joke about the "flown in stuff" for the past 12-ish years, so he had a Carnegie Deli cheesecake (my favorite cheesecake of all time) flown in for me for my b-day.
Good man.

Here are some simple, everyday pics from what summer life is like for Bacle kiddos. Dinner, coloring, sunset, walking, Waterway.

I let you meet momma and introduce you to papa.

These two can play for hours together. I think this was some version of "house" with Birdie as the boss and Winston as the brother/daddy/son/puppy/all-around-follower of Birdie's orders.

ferry tales

The last time we went to Galveston, we took the ferry to Bolivar Peninsula. These pictures remind me of ones from kids my generation.
"Stand in front of some old broken down fort, and I'll take your picture."
"Hold hands."
"Look like you're having fun."
