frame-breaker, you've got the best of me

I hosted a playdate at our house the other day, and the frame on our big canvas was broken somehow, so I'm moving the canvas to another wall and ordering four new ones to go in its place; here are three of them. I guess that's what happens when you have a gajillion babies 4 and under running around the house, but Winston sure loved it. It was a chasing, sword-fighting, gun-slinging ball of fun chaos. :)

My handsome hubby needed a new FB profile pic:

So, I'm putting a picture up of just me for two reasons.
1. I sometimes wish my mom friends would post pictures of themselves on their blogs. Their kids are cute and all, but I'd love to see pics of my friends sometimes, too.
2. For the first time in my life, my hair is no longer board straight. Not sure where this wave came from, but it started last summer, and it's getting curlier by the month. Cah-razy.

I'm feeling especially grateful today for the lovely life we have.
I hope your heart is full of love and thanks today.

I'm lookin' at you, biscuit boy.

Winston is my biscuit boy, and we had a family joke on Spring Break vacation when I said, "I'm lookin' at you, biscuit boy." We all had a big laugh about it and quote it a lot, so I feel the need to write it down before it escapes my little brain.
Anyway, Birdie's class had a field trip recently, and we went ahead of them and had lots of time to kill before the buses finally got there, so biscuit boy posed for some pics for me.

the bird days of summer

Woohoo! Three weeks to go, and we get our Birdie girl back! I'm so excited--I miss her all day long. We are going to have such a fabulous summer. Can't wait.
This girl has my heart.

Happy Easter Birthday, part 2

Winston is my easy baby--always has been. For his birthday, he asked to have it at Aunt B and Uncle T's house with his grandparents and cousins there. He wanted a cake, a pinata, and a silly string fight. End.
He went back and forth on having me make cupcakes vs. store bought and then finally decided on this Happy Easter cake with superhero candles. What a groovy kid we have.

Poor Iron Man was decapitated after one swing.

Cousin Big G finished him off for us.

It's all fun and games til ya get silly string down the hatch.

A little zip lining...

...and present opening, and Birthday #4 is in the books. Thanks for our wonderful family for making Winston's birthday exactly what he wanted. He's so proud to be 4.

Happy Easter Birthday, part 1

For Easter this year, we went back to LA to celebrate Winston's birthday and Easter together with our favorite Louisiana people. Here are a few from the Easter egg hunt at church before the party. It was less of a "hunt" and more of a go-nuts-and-grab-as-many-eggs-as-possible extravaganza. The kids loved it.
