What can make me feel this way?

My girl.
Princess Birdie requests crepes for breakfast about three times a week. So, this morning I thought I'd try a different recipe. She looked at it and said, "Chocolate crepes? Wow. I didn't know you were so talented."
I just had to write that one down.

so hard to be a boy

Oh, it's so hard to be 3. It's so sad to have to leave the playground.

Wah, oh wah.

Yeah, right! No kid has ever had it so good. He was pretending to cry when we had to leave the park, which he thinks is so hilarious. One thing that's great about having two homebodies for children? I never have to be that poor mom dragging her crying, screaming kids from the playground. Mine are always asking to go home. Whew. Thanks for that, children.

White Whisker D

Happy Father's Day to the best daddy I know. By the way, "White Whisker D" is the nickname Birdie gave her daddy.

I heart WV.

I meant to post this on Mother's Day, but I was sick. Let's see if I can get a Father's Day picture posted before the end of the year.

I was going through some old pics and found this one from last year in San Antonio from Alyssa. I love my smiley baby.

fake it til you make it

Birdie loves to make us laugh, and she thinks it's funny to pretend with funny faces and little stories. Here she is waiting to be rescued from her tower.

She's pretending to be asleep in the field.

Pretending to be utterly fed up with photos.

happy, happy birthday, baby

So, our baby boy is 3. For his birthday, he said he wanted a party at home with his best dudes. He's got a team of about 6 little dudes the same age, and he wanted them to come to his "super" party. It was half-spiderman/half-superhero. He and I went to the party store a few days before, and he helped me pick everything out. A couple of our friends couldn't make it, so it ended up being 4 boys--low key and lots of fun. We even sent Birdie to stay with her bestie, so it would be just a boy party for him and his friends.

The girls (Kate, Birdie, and Kate's momma) sent these cake pops down to us to wish him happy birthday.
These were my attempt at cool cookies. Not the best, but you get the idea.

After cake and games, we went outside for a pinata and a spider web fight with some silly string.

These are his strong muscles and Captain America shield he is going to use to defeat the pinata, if that isn't obvious.
Oh, how I adore this boy. 3 already?! Can't believe it. Happy birthday, little dude.

just chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool

Don't fret. Still here. I'm still trying to recover from May--the worst month ever.
Here's our dude chillin' in our hotel room in Brenham from when we went to see fields and fields of bluebonnets. Stay tuned for more bluebonnets, Winston's birthday pics, and lots of home redecorating. Here's hoping that June is better!
