Birdie and I had a little mommy-daughter date to see The Nutcracker Ballet as one of Birdie's Christmas presents. We think we'll make it an annual thing. She picked out both of our outfits.

home for the holidays
We've had the best Christmas stay-home vacation. Daddy took Monday off so I could do a photo shoot, so we had him home with us for 5 whole days. We slept a lot, baked a lot, opened presents, played outside for hours in the beautiful sunny weather, attempted the movies, delivered cookies and presents, went to a family Christmas party, and even had a date night. We hope you had a relaxing, loving, and happy Christmas!

school days
So, Birdie was begging to start some sort of pre-Kindergarten. We visited several places, and I signed her up at a darling little school where several of our friends go. So, Winston kept asking about when he was going to go to class and start school, so I ended up signing him up, as well. It's only for a total of six hours per week, but it's a chance for me to work and not stay up until 2am every night, and they both seem to like it a lot, so it's working out for everyone. This was the morning of their first day.
This was Birdie dressed up to go to her first little school recital (she had to wear a party dress for her costume). Winston had to get in the pic, too.

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! We haven't done cards in a few years, so I wanted to send a video greeting card to everyone this year. My lovely friend, Kristi Brockman, of Brockstar Videos filmed this for us this summer.

funny bird
So, in our house, we emphasize being kind and generous first and being funny second. Because, really, what's the point if you're not going to laugh and be happy for most of every day? It's my daily goal to make Birdie laugh so hard that she either gets the hiccups or her eyes start watering. I can't do it every day, but most. She'll get so excited for me and say, "Look, Momma! You did it! My eyes are crying!"
Today in Target:
B: Momma, can we get some more Pirate's Booty? (brand of snacks)
M: Hmmm, I don't think they sell it at Target, but we can get some soon.
B: Well, then can we get some Pirate's Butt??
M: Birdie, don't say that. You're being crude.
B. Yes. But was it funny?
Oh, boy.

super kids
It's just coincidence that it was around Halloween, because these clothes are typical everyday wear for my two.
