Oh, my sweet babies, how I adore them. Our oh-so-sweet friend, Alyssa Fortenberry of Alyssa Fortenberry Photography, took these for me when we visited their family in San Antonio recently. (I went to try to help her pack, although I don't know if bringing another two kids actually did any good. Whoops. They've just moved to Colorado Springs--only a few streets away from our old house!)
Anyway, Birdie is almost 4 now and definitely not a baby anymore. There hasn't been a single day in the last 6 months that she hasn't surprised me with how mature she is, from her vocabulary to her reasoning to her kindness she shows to her rascal of a brother. So, I wanted a picture of us dressed up together and talking to each other and being sweet and just having a little moment with beautiful Texas in the background, so I could always remember us together when I could still hold her in my arms.
Now, the rascal. I wanted some pics of us playing and being silly, because that is what we do all day long. He and I have some one-on-one time these days when Birdie is in gymnastics classes, so we are good buddies right now. He is in a total I'm-in-love-with-my-momma phase, and I'm just fine and dandy with that. He kisses and hugs me all day, every day, and the best part is that he says, "momma," after everything he says. It never gets old.
I did it, momma!
I hunngy, momma.
Whaa dat, momma?
I shay Beedie, momma. (He's very proud of himself when he shares his things.)
Whea ahh you, momma?
I wub you, momma!
When he's not in the middle of a terrible-2 tantrum, he is the sweetest, most loving boy on the planet.
For all of our friends in Colorado, give Alyssa a call for your own photo shoot.
Alyssa, thank you so much for capturing exactly what I wanted. I'll send you a picture once I get them up on the wall. And we can't wait to visit y'all in Colorado!!
