I'm only happy when it rains.

love hurts

Poor Buzz. Winston has almost loved him to death. Since this was taken, he's since added another duct tape knee "correctional bonding strip" and a sling for a severed arm.
Winston sleeps with Buzz every night. After he goes to bed, we'll hear an occasional, "I have a laser...and I will use it," throughout the house. Just when I think he's asleep, there goes the laser. This is the monitor from the other day.

the princess bride

The other day Birdie told me she was going to marry her Daddy when she grew up.
M: That's so sweet. But, I have bad news, honey. Daddy is already married to me.
B: Oh, man! But he's the most handsome Daddy. Is there going to be another one for me to marry?

When I tell you that she wants to dress up and wear girlie stuff all the time, I mean ALL THE TIME. The other day she was acting like a crazy fool, and I threatened to not let her wear a dress for the rest of the day. Instant tears.

Here's the routine: clean up, dress, hair, accessories. Ready to say, "I do."

I love Birdie

Doesn't this expression look a little like Lucy?

the big one

There's a line in Toy Story when Sid gets a rocket in the mail. The name of it is "The Big One"--he says it in a funny voice. I used to quote lines from Dumb and Dumber and SNL and the other non-G-rated things I used to get to watch. Now I quote lines from Disney movies.

I also like to annoy Birdie by misquoting lines. The annoying part to her is that I think I'm funny and she does not concur. I'll say stuff like, "Candy, candy, candy. That's all she ever talks about." (Toy Story 2)
I recently changed the lyrics to the Alicia Keys song "This girl is on fire," to "This mom needs a shower." She didn't even smile when I belted it out. So those teenage years are gonna be fun....

Anyhow, I designed this alphabet art and ordered "the big one" for our playroom. Can't wait for it to get here. I'm probably the only mom who hangs up non-smiling, sass-a-frass-attitude pictures of her kids, but I love it. These two crack me up all day long.
