We are lucky that Granny lives close to the Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport, so we have plenty of great photo opportunities every time we visit. Too bad I don't have kids that are interested in having their pictures taken.

tick teat!
"Tick teat!" is how Winston says, "trick or treat," which he still practices once a day. He had the system pretty much figured out by the second house. I never thought I would be proud about trick-or-treating, but I was one proud momma watching how big he is and how he figured out what to do and how he followed behind our little gaggle of friends.
Meanwhile, y'all, I don't think you're aware that we have the real Cinderella here. The other day we were dancing and pretending to be at the ball, and I said, "Gong! Gong! Oh, no! You'd better hurry before the spell is broken and your carriage turns into a pumpkin!"
She looked at me totally deadpan and said, "No, I'm a real princess. That won't change."
Well, pardon me, your highness.

It's hard out there for a boy.
My goodness, this boy and his nose. So, if you've seen any of my recent posts on Facebook, you've heard a little bit about the stories of the peas and spider up the nose. Today it was a piece of cheese. Always the same nostril. I'm sure this is a little embarrassing for future Winston, but I'd say it's payback for having to fish a spider booger out of his sinuses.
So this picture is from a few weeks ago, when this monkey fell nose first into the sidewalk outside the sandbox at the playground. Poor thing. He even had little sand particle imprints on his forehead for a while. The scab is gone, but his nose is still red several weeks later. I'm hoping it won't scar, but if it does, here's the picture to go with it.

one of these dudes is not like the others
Some of our favorite friends came to town for the weekend to visit with us and hang out before their big move to Colorado Springs. What's funny is that their new house is about 2 minutes from our old house there. She is also a photographer and took our new header picture and my new profile/business picture. She got this super-cute one of the kids. Colorado Springs friends, this is the link to her website when you're ready to book her for your family sessions.
I really can't get over how big Winston looks. I keep thinking he's still a baby...sigh. They also have one more adorable baby girl, but she isn't quite ready for the bench pose. Next year when we go for our ski trip visit, I'm sure!
