Momma's big-girl shoes
I think I've mentioned on here before that there's a series of books about a little girl named Birdie, about a girl who loves to dress up and play with her momma's closet goodies. Birdie loves it when I wear fancy shoes and tells me all the time about how she can't wait to be a "big giant" like me so she can wear all of my stuff. She loves to show me how she can, in fact, walk in my shoes without falling and asked me to take this picture as evidence. Here you go, kid. Now go put those heels away.

Daddy and Birdie have a game called, "Throw me in the air and say hi." As in, Daddy opens the door and Birdie screams, "Daddy! Can you throw me in the air and say hi?!" She added the "and say hi" part when she was really little and I would try to take pictures as she would get thrown up. I asked her to wave to me while she was in the air, and so that became the name of the game.
Winston is finally to the point where he likes to play, too. But, he does not like to go high...or say hi.

Hey, hey. We're the monkeys.
B usually only agrees to a picture these days if she can make a "silly face." This is her current version.
I'm assuming the term "monkey see, monkey do" was coined when the very first sibling came about. This kid wants to do everything his sister does. It's pretty stinkin' cute, but Birdie doesn't always agree. I say something to the effect of, "He just wants to be by you/like you/close to you/do what you're doing" many, many times throughout the day. In her defense, she's pretty tolerant considering he's like a miniature Donkey Kong crashing about our house.

"if you're on the shore, then you're sho' not me-oh"
Daddy Bear's favorite fancy-pants hobby is sailing. One of his co-workers invited us out on her lovely boat, and we had a great time. I had to save Winston a few times from diving off head first, but we had a ton of fun. I love the sequence of these pics. Everyone's all smiles at first, and then you're just plain ol' pooped out. Great fun.
This picture was Daddy's birthday gift and is hanging up in his office.
