"new one"

If you know Birdie, you know that she always wants a "new one" of anything. She wants to have "new juice" (which means a refill). Or, she'll only want it if she can take the first bite of the cookie you're sharing and not the one she just licked. Or, she'll only eat a slice of watermelon if it's in triangle form (vs. cut up into pieces). Now, she doesn't always get her way, of course, but she would live her life this way if she could. So, I really did laugh out loud when I came back from putting Winston down to find only the "new" bites taken out of all of her crackers. Funny girl.

beach baby bingo

We took the babies to the beach a couple of weekends ago and had a great time. I love, love, love living so close to the water. Aunt Stacy went with us and was sweet enough to be my beach model.

This is our beach setup. The tent worked out great. Winston was able to stay in the shade the entire time, and we had a sand-free space for snacking and snoozing.

Here's Birdie in the cooler again. She goes to the beach for the snacks.

Okay, so maybe he's not as excited about the beach as the rest of us.

Stacy was the model for my Galveston photoshoot info for my blog.

hungry, hungry birdies

Birdie's pretty excited to have baby birds in the front yard.

This is for you, Granny.

When we say our prayers together when we put Birdie down at night, we always end with thanking God for our family and we list everyone: Daddy, Momma, Birdie, and Winston. Tonight Birdie said, "and Gam-ma."

Boys are gross. There. I said it.

So, as a parent of a boy and a girl, I've learned that there are really few differences between babies and adults. Boys: stinky, but easy to please. Girls: smell good, but high maintenance. I'll spare you the details, but let me just say that the six diapers and seven washcloths in the background are from one 20-minute Winston diaper change. But, my goodness, if this boy isn't the cutest! He is so stinkin' sweet and is such an easy going baby. He laughs and giggles all the time, but I haven't been able to get it on video yet, because he'll only do it if I'm right in his face being silly.

Here are a couple of pictures from us hanging out in the backyard in our little blow-up pool. W is just chillin' watching Birdie swim. Btw, at his 2-month checkup, this little Tech fan was 94th percentile for height and 99th for weight. Yikes.

urban cowgirl

How cute is this girl? She is so fun and funny and cracks me up all day.

Here are a few cute closeups of the kids. Winston is smiling at Birdie in this first one. She can always make him giggle, and I can tell he's going to be her #1 fan.

Birdie was making silly faces and then looking at them on the camera.

These last two were at Mercer last Saturday.

A very, very un-birthday to you!

Birdie must have been going through birthday party withdrawals, because she was singing "Happy Birthday" and asking for cake for several days in a row. So, I decided we should have some "un-birthday" parties. I made a little cake and we had a little party every day when we had a slice of cake. On the third time, I finally took some pictures. I think she'll be ready for her second birthday. :)

Granny Mo. She's a vegetarian.

Ok, not really, but I think of that song every time I say, "Granny Mo." Anyway, Grandma came to visit the kiddos for the long weekend. I think Winston likes her.
