NYC

We went to New York this past weekend to meet up with some friends from David's grad school. It was drizzling and a little chilly, but it was a very fun weekend.

Also, we treated ourselves and stayed the night at the Waldorf-Astoria. It was lovely.

At home

Last Monday was my last day teaching, so I am officially a stay-at-home mom-to-be. I miss many of the students, but it has been great being at home full time getting ready for the baby—my nesting instincts have kicked in. I have lots of projects that I’m busy working on, and I’m still tutoring two adult students in Worcester every week.

It was sad on the last day, because I’ve gotten very close to several of the kids. They made two brownie cakes and a card for me, and one of the boys sang a song from Grease. It was very cute. See the little baby in the bottom corner? So sweet.

Another parting gift: a picture of me as "Bacle the bagel" that one of my students drew on the board. I thought it was pretty funny.

St. Patty's in Boston

We went into Boston today for the St. Patrick's Day parade. Here are some pics and a quick video of the BPD bagpipers.

Just when I think my belly is huge, it doesn't even look like I'm pregnant here.

Future soccer player?

My new favorite hobby is to watch my stomach, because I can already see baby kicks. When I sit still in the bath, there are ripples in the water the whole time. This baby is so active! We went for my monthly checkup today, and the baby was moving so much, the doctor could barely count the heartbeat.

Also, everyone thinks it's a boy. Strangers tell me that it looks like a boy from how I'm carrying. Even my doctor said she had a feeling all of a sudden that it's a boy when she was measuring me. If this little one is a girl, she is going to surprise everyone.

It's hard to believe we're already past the halfway point, but I'm so excited for it to be July already!

Vermont Weekend

We took a weekend trip to Stowe, Vermont, this past weekend with several people from David's office. They hit the slopes on Saturday, but I decided to be extra careful and stayed at the cute cottage all day. I did get out and did some snowshoeing for an hour or so and took these pictures. Do you see the moose?

We also stopped at the original Ben and Jerry's on the way home and got to sample a new triple caramel flavor!
